About Firefly

Firefly was founded with the goal of accelerating financial freedom. Our goal is to beat the market average, which is the S&P 500 (average 9.8% over last 20 years). The premise behind beating the market is based on the notion of market volatility and trading on volatility. This is just one method amongst many that has been proven to consistently beat the market over the last several decades. The catch of course, is how one trades volatility profitability.

In contrast, one of the most common trading strategies is buy and hold. Buy and hold strategies can work very well over the long term; however, one is often required to keep large amounts of capital invested. Moreover, the buy and hold investor is subject to overarching macro-trends in the market such as a bear trend, seasonal pull back or negative news based events / market reactions. This can be problematic for investors who for a variety of reasons require short-term liquidity, thus reducing potential gain or in some cases actually recognizing a loss.

Our philosophy is simple, we automate day trading and focus on volatile micro-trends in the market with leveraged trading. The approach is bi-directional in nature in that we focus on both going long (upward trend) and short (downward trend). This allows us to capitalize on the bipolar nature of the market as a whole, doubling the opportunity to increase gains.

This means that at the end of every day, the investor is liquidated and knows their exact position. Being in the market for only a few hours a day can significantly reduce risk and provides peace of mind.

This is where foreign currency or FOREX trading comes into play. Currency trading by virtue of the global economy is highly volatile. FOREX trading has been around for several decades and is a highly regulated market with many trading options available.

In essence, Firefly is an algorithmic trading platform focused on FOREX trading.

We generate buy/sell signals on FOREX currency pairs and trade those signals algorithmically based on backtested systems.
